The Bonner Community Fellowship (BCF) is a four-year developmental program that empowers students to advance social justice through hands-on learning and critical reflection. Participants explore the intersections of power and privilege in community engagement while identifying ways to address meaningful social issues. The BCF Pre-Orientation includes cohort-building activities, workshops on civic engagement and identity, and opportunities to explore Providence.
The Kessler Scholars Program supports students' personal, academic, and leadership growth through holistic advising, collaborative programming, and co-curricular engagement. Scholars receive mentorship, build connections through cohort activities, explore campus resources, and develop leadership skills to enhance their success at Brown.
The Mosaic+ Transition Program introduces newly admitted students to computer science while fostering interracial understanding and community building. It helps students navigate challenges faced by minority students at a predominantly white institution and connects them with key resources at Brown and within the CS department. No prior computer science experience is required. Through a mix of technical exercises and community-focused activities, students gain skills and support to thrive in computer science.
The Brown Summer Transition Engineering Program (STEP) is a hybrid pre-orientation program designed to foster inclusion, community, and success in engineering. STEP introduces students to engineering with a focus on underrepresented inclusion, community building, and university resources. No prior experience is required, and participants will engage in technical exercises and networking opportunities.
The Third World Transition Program (TWTP) is open to all incoming first-year students and focuses on issues impacting communities of color in the U.S., including racism, classism, ableism, religious discrimination, imperialism, and cisheterosexism. Participants engage in discussions, community care, and bonding activities to foster understanding and solidarity.
