Hello Brookville Elementary students and parents! I'm Mrs. Storie, the School Counselor. This year is my fifth year at Brookville Elementary. The 2025-2026 school year is my seventh year as an elementary school counselor and I look forward to working together to make it a great year. I'm so lucky I get to do this job!
As a School Counselor, I perform the following roles in order to promote positive development in academic, career and social/emotional areas:
Short-term individual counseling
Small group counseling
Classroom lessons monthly in each classroom
Organize student support team (SST) to promote student success
Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators and students
Respond to school crises or emergency situations
Provide information, resources and referrals to parents on a variety of issues

School Counseling Intern
School Counseling Intern
Mrs. Michaela Short (Manning) will be joining me again this year as a counseling intern. She will be with us for the remainder of this school year. She will graduate in May from the University of Dayton’s School Counseling program. Just as a student teacher shadows and works with classroom teachers, Mrs. Short will continue to shadow my work and will also start take some things over on her own under my supervision. She is already off to a great start this year!
