Classroom Lessons

What are Classroom Lessons about?

Classroom guidance is an integral part of the School Counseling program at Brookville Elementary.  Classroom visits focus on topics dealing with social/emotional, career and academic matters.

During the school year, Mrs. Storie will visit classrooms on a schedule set with the classroom teacher. Classroom visits are 30 minutes long and full of fun!

Topics covered include: bullying prevention, friendship, cooperation, responsibility, goal setting, etc. This year we will continue using the A Little Spot books from author and illustrator Diane Alber to teach on many of these topics. Information will be included in monthly building newsletters about what each grade level is learning along with Parent Square messages, most months, after each lesson in the classroom.

This year we are also implementing the Monique Burr Foundation Child Safety Matters curriculum kindergarten through 3rd grade. For more information about this curriculum, contact Mrs. Storie.
