Your role:
Play an active role in University internal communications ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of key messages and information to your team,
Ensure the team has opportunities to discuss what is going on both within your area and more widely to foster clarity and transparency and minimise misunderstandings,
Support and encourage feedback from team members and communicate identified issues/concerns, suggestions or ideas from team members upwards where they relate to matters outside your direct control,
Leverage appropriate communication technologies and channels to facilitate effective and timely communication and feedback within your team.

Ensure any processes and systems in the remit of your team are efficient, effective and focused on providing value to the service user/customer,
Proactively look to identify and address process/workflow issues within your area including bottlenecks, co-ordination issues with other teams, lack of automation and inconsistencies, to improve productivity and user experience,
Ensure value for money in your area of responsibility by pursuing economy (careful management of available resources), efficiency (delivering the best level of service for less), and effectiveness (delivering the right service)

Your role:
Support wider University change activities by effectively advocating for and supporting the implementation of changes within your team or department,
Act as a conduit for feedback between your team and higher-level stakeholders ensuring any concerns, suggestions and insights are raised and support the communication of the rationale for decisions and actions,
Ensure there is a robust business case/rationale for any project or change activity you are planning and attain approval in accordance with University regulations as necessary,
Manage local projects and change activities through effective planning, budget/resource management, stakeholder engagement and benefits realisation,
Evaluate and manage the impact of any changes you lead (equality impact assessment, data impact assessment etc),
Provide frontline leadership and support the wider implementation of the University's crisis management and business continuity plans in the event of a crisis/manager incident.

Effectively manage and utilise relevant information and data to inform your decision-making and support continuous improvement in your area,
Ensure adherence to data management protocols and compliance with relevant regulations, and promote responsible handling and storage of digital information to maintain confidentiality and integrity,
Promote awareness of cybersecurity best practices among team members and encourage adherence to university policies and procedures related to data protection and information security.

- Risk and assurance:
Your role:
Ensure individuals in your team understand the risks and compliance requirements relevant to their role by ensuring they complete the required mandatory induction and refreshers training,
Be alert to potential risks in your area - escalate any concerns to your senior management team for inclusion in the relevant risk register in line with the University's Risk Management Policy,
Be alert to breaches of professional practice, conduct and/or probity and ensure any concerns are raised/addressed in line with University policies,
Ensure that any policies and procedures within your/your teams remit are regularly reviewed and updated in line with University policy.
