The most beautiful thing about the Theatre Arts is that each student can find his or her place here, in their own time and own way, and can be successful. Here at Valor Academy Middle School, it is my goal to encourage students to thrive in themselves, to celebrate themselves, and to challenge themselves in life, academia, and the arts. Knowing who you are as an individual is one of the first and most important steps to becoming a well-rounded artist, and it is here that we begin our journey in the theatre arts. Welcome, and huzzah!!
Lo más hermoso de las Artes Teatrales es que cada estudiante puede encontrar aquí su lugar, a su manera y en su propio tiempo, y puede tener éxito. Aquí en Valor Academy Middle School, mi objetivo es alentar a los estudiantes a prosperar en sí mismos, a celebrarse y a desafiarse a sí mismos en la vida, la academia y las artes. Overview / Descripción general
Students are required to participate in classroom exercises, writings, performances, presentations, and improvisations. The students will analyze, discuss and write responses to various pieces of dramatic literature, performances of plays/musicals, and theatrical designs. Students will also present monologues, perform two-person scenes, create and showcase stagecraft designs, and participate in short, in-class performances. Participation is a MUST.
Se requiere que los estudiantes participen en ejercicios, escritos, actuaciones, presentaciones e improvisaciones en el aula. Los estudiantes analizarán, discutirán y escribirán respuestas a diversas piezas de literatura dramática, representaciones de obras de teatro/musicales y diseños teatrales. Los estudiantes también presentarán monólogos, interpretarán escenas de dos personas, crearán y exhibirán diseños escénicos y participarán en actuaciones breves en clase. La participación es IMPRESCINDIBLE.

In this unit, students will learn about the basic design fundamentals and how they relate to stagecraft as they experience brief workshops in puppetry, scenic design, and costume design. Students will be creating design portfolio to be presented at the culmination of Unit 3.
En esta unidad, los estudiantes aprenderán sobre los fundamentos básicos del diseño y cómo se relacionan con el arte escénico mientras experimentan breves talleres sobre títeres, diseño escénico y diseño de vestuario. Los estudiantes crearán su propio portafolio de diseño que se presentará al finalizar la Unidad 3.
