The Universities of Wisconsin offer three paths to first-year student/freshman undergraduate admission:
▶️Overview: Direct Admit Wisconsin allows participating UW universities to make offers of admission to students (based on a review of student’s 11th grade transcript) without the need for students to submit a traditional application. Participating in this program does not commit a student to attend the Universities of Wisconsin. Direct Admit offers are conditional, which means that students need to continue to succeed in your high school courses and progress toward graduation.
▶️Overview: Students may seek admission the traditional way using the Universities of Wisconsin Admission Application (or the Common App, for some universities). Applications are reviewed holistically, meaning that more than grades are looked at.
▶️Overview: Students in the top 10% of their class at the end of junior year qualify for guaranteed admission to all UW universities except UW-Madison. Students in the top 5% of their class at the end of junior year qualify for guaranteed admission to UW-Madison. NOTE: Students must still submit an application by each college's deadline to access the Wisconsin Guarantee.
Since the average BVA junior class size is ~50 students, the Wisconsin Guarantee will likely impact a maximum of 5 students each year.
▶️Participating Campuses: UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, UW-Platteville, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout, UW-Superior, and UW-Whitewater.
▶️Participating Campuses: All UW campuses.
▶️Participating Campuses: All UW campuses participate in the Wisconsin Guarantee. 12 campuses = top 10%; UW-Madison = top 5%.
▶️Eligibility/Requirements: Direct Admit offers of admission are based on a review of student’s 11th grade transcript, including:
Cumulative GPA: Campuses are divided into different GPA tiers.
Math coursework: Transcript must show 3 years of math has been or will be completed by graduation, including: Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
Progression toward graduation: Transcript must show the student is on track to meet all graduation requirements and graduate with their cohort.
▶️Eligibility/Requirements: Varies from campus-to-campus. Click here to explore admission requirements at each of the universities.
