Welcome to MS Performing Arts at Bridges Prep!

I am very excited to be part of the the Bridges Family not only as a parent but now faculty member too! I am overjoyed to be working towards the continued growth of the Buccanneer Theatre Company and fostering a dynmaic Performing Arts Program at Bridges Preparatory School.

I moved South over 20 year ago , set roots in the Lowcountry and started a family. Origninally from Pennsylvania I fell in love with arts at an early age. I have studied dance throughout childhood and hold a Bachelor Degree in Dance from Point Park Univesity in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Once I settled in the South I pursued my education degree and hold a Masters in Education from the University of South Carolina. I look forward to sharing my love for the Performing Arts with Bridges student and our community.

My classes will help our students explore their creativity and imaginations to hone skills in public speaking, teamwork, and ensemble building. They will be highly participatory and engaging, involving discussions, activities, and games enhancing each learning unit.

All grades will get a basic introduction to theatre as an art form as well as learn skills in improvisation, movement, and voice to explore their roles as communicators in society.

I understand that not everyone will be comfortable performing in class or speaking as much as others. While participation is necessary (and graded), I promise to meet students where they are as much as possible. Our class is a judgement-free zone and its main goals are self-awareness, effective communication, and team building.
