2020–2023: Student Success Projects

In 2022–2023, we took our first steps toward Success Projects, a more expansive and student-driven version of the already-authentic TED Talks. See below for examples of Senior Talks, Student-Directed Literature Projects, and Letters to Eighth Graders.

This is also the year when the main instructional post was formally updated to its current state, which emphasizes the project-based learning of a Humanities makerspace. Below are the three options showcased at the end of the school year.

This was the first year that students in English 12 expanded the traditional TED Talk final project into a more expansive, PBL-infused one. The project drew on the ELA skills expected of a graduate — critical thinking, collaboration, research-driven writing, and more — as seniors produced Senior Talks that were presented live or pre-recorded.
