For my senior final project, I decided to compile all my work throughout the year. Although it wasn't my original purpose, I found myself almost exclusively writing about my childhood and culture. I've written many pieces this year and the ELL community kept reappearing in my work. In this website I have included my newspaper articles that were written entirely in Spanish for the ELL students in BHS, my personal narrative, the Pareto Project we worked on, our research on the gentrification of Main Street in the Village, my work for the Seal of Biliteracy, and my senior project ideas. Creating this website was the best decision for my final project because I think my work has some value in it and would like for others to see my work and hopefully go further with the topics I workshopped. I hope that everyone enjoys my writing that I've accumulated throughout the year and thank you!

In order to compose my own poetry, I'm learning how to write poems. I want to be able to explain my feelings and ideas so that others can understand what I'm thinking. Poems are something I haven't spent much, if any, time studying in school, despite the fact that I believe they are more important and intriguing than other subjects. My project will show how poetry may be utilized in the classroom to assist students learn to express themselves while also working on rhetorical abilities.

For starters, English education is stuck in a cycle that has long since been left disconnected with the current age. The so-called "classics" aren't as well received and not many people are reading books as much. Yet when we branch out to other mediums they aren't accepted. The standard English education does not allow for such freedom which nurtures a distaste for literature. But why shouldn't we have a space where such freedom is allowed. Where inquiry and creativity are abundant? And why shouldn't we accept other forms of media as literature? Where will literature be if the system doesn't get with the times and finally let students to have their own choice in the nurturing of their English education.

When people my age think about reading they think that it is boring because we are all forced to read books in school. The school system does a good job at assigning "boring" books. Students then have no interest in reading books beyond class because they assume it is boring. This google site is a way to connect students to reading. A lot of us have lost our passion for reading. We might not notice it but it is still there. In this google site you will find a list of books to read when...

BACKGROUND
Brian spent several units this year studying aspects of the burgeoning anti-work movement in this country. He tied his literature choice into the topic, wrote a research paper on it, and guided several in-class discussions with peers.

ASL should be part of our daily practice and communication, not just for the deaf community but for the great opportunities it comes with. It connects people no matter the background or situation.

PED's are generally not as discussed as they should be, especially with young gym goers who may not be familiar with the risks and side effects of using these drugs. Studies show that PED's increase blood pressure, diabetes, vision problems, infertility, shrunken testicles, severe acne, aggressive behavior, etc. Some of these problems are reversible but many users have long term damage to their bodies, especially to their heart, liver, and reproductive organs.

Life. Life goes faster than we realize sometimes. As a kid you can't wait to be older and do fun things. Meanwhile older relatives are saying stay young as possible. Teachers say highschool goes by fast during your freshman year. Then before you know it you're sitting in class with only a few more days to go in high school. Asking yourself where did time go and why did I want to grow up so fast?

Piracy, while illegal in the US, is still a hot topic of debate, due to the ethical and moral implications of it. Some people are vehemently against it, but some people don't have much of an opposition to it. There's also plenty of reasons of why one might pirate, and plenty of methods of how to do so.

Narcissism is defined as excessive interest in or admiration of oneself. Not many people deal with the disorder but more people are affected by it. My project will talk about what it is, things associated with it, causes, effects, along with different examples, definitions and statistics.

I've always found the movies that were more memorable are the ones with soundtrack that caters to my musical taste. I wonder if others might feel the same and if they feel alone on this as I feel. I guess the potential message I want to give is to appreciate music in movies, and that the next time you watch a movie, pay attention to the music, you might start to appreciate the movie more or less because of it. Either way is fine by me. I just want to try to get someone to form an opinion about it.

The purpose of this Senior Talk is to show one sided relationships. It hurts both people in the relationship because you're causing so much trouble and sorrow. I wanted to write about this topic because I can very much relate to one sided relationships.

I want to bring to peoples' awareness the issues of race and identity that are always subtle and always ignored because we feel like it's nothing to be talked about and I also want to talk about self-love and my journey on it and how to start changing your mentality on yourself, on the topic of race/identity and how to begin ones' journey to self-love and what kind of mediums to use that can help.
