If your child's Chromebook is stolen it is imperative that you contact the police immediately and fill out a police report. The police department will provide you with a number that is associated with the report. Provide this information to the district tech office to have another Chromebook issued to your student.
If your child lost their Chromebook please contact the school immediately so it can be disabled. If it is found contact the school to have it enabled again. While your family is looking for the Chromebook your student may check out a loaner Chromebook on a daily basis by coming to the library before school to check it out then returning it at the end of the day. If your child needs to borrow the Chromebook overnight arrangements can be made.
If you child's Chromebook is broken please have your student contact the school. Sometimes Chromebooks have to be sent to the district tech office where they have it repaired. If this occurs students may borrow a Chromebook using the steps explained in the section above. Chromebooks will be returned to students once the arrive back at Mountain View.
Please refer to the Chromebook Insurance page for more details about stolen, lost, or broken Chromebooks.
Students who withdraw from Mountain View are expected to return the Chromebook with stylus and case as well as the charger that was sent home when the Chromebook was issued. It is expected that all equipment is in working order when returned. Students who only return portions of the Chromebook set will be charged for the missing equipment.
Students who have lost their stylus or charger may get a replacement by paying a fee at the school store. Once the fee is paid two receipts will be given to the student. One for their records and one to take to the library to get the replacement part. Since the fee paid is a fine for lost equipment the newly issued stylus or charger remains property of the Bremerton School District. A new stylus cost is $22 and the fee for a charger is $43.
