We have a wide range of workshops on offer throughout the day. Each workshop will run at least twice. You get to choose four workshops to attend over four 1/2 hour sessions throughout the day.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Maramataka

This workshop will provide you with the basics of using Maramataka within your classrooms. We will cover the names of the phases of each marama for the Maramataka followed in this rohe. We will also talk about some of the dos and don’t of using Maramataka within your classroom.

Te Whare Tapa Wha/Wellbeing

This workshop is looking at how you can incorporate Te Whare Tapa Whā into your classroom and different resources you can use. It will also have a guest speaker, Jo Statham, who has done a lot of work around Zones of Regulation and how important this is to include in your classroom/with Te Whare Tapa Whā.
Collaborative Games and Icebreakers

Creatively link Deep Learning Competencies into your Teaching Practice

This workshop will explore how to integrate deep learning competencies in a visual way to engage students in their learning process and give them the confidence to make change. Follow Tracey’s own inquiry into deep learning in her Visual Art Department. She will share how she made links between deep learning and the 6C’s with national curriculum and assessment expectations and incorporated the 6C’s into everyday teaching practice.
