OVERVIEW

Below are lessons and activities that can be used with curriculum units and as stand-alone content for filler days during the school year or summer.  Some material is shared from Affiliates while others are from vetted curriculum sources. 

Protecting The City with Levees (Atmospheric Movement) 

Students will design and build their own model levees. Students will act as civil engineers for the city of New Orleans and create sturdy barriers to prevent water from flooding a city in the event of another hurricane similar to Katrina.
