Arrival: Polk opens our doors beginning at 7:30 a.m. Students should not arrive before then. There is no supervision and this is a safety issue.
Dismissal:
Life Skills, PreK - 1st grade will dismiss at 3:35
2nd - 4th grades will dismiss at 3:45
*If you have siblings dismissed at different times, all siblings will dismiss at 3:45. Please arrive accordingly so you do not have to go back through the stacking lanes.
We will NOT make dismissal changes after 2:00 pm for the safety of our school.
Side Parking Lot Stacking Lanes: ALL car riders will use the stacking lanes (extending from the side parking lot) and drop off will be at door 14. Parents are not allowed to park in the side parking lot during arrival and dismissal times. All parents need to follow the stacking lanes and merge forward to one of the five drop off locations by the covered sidewalk. Car riders will NOT use the front circle drive. You will be redirected to the side parking lot/stacking lanes.
Front Circle Drive: Please see the diagram to see the pathway for the front circle drive. Vehicles will enter from the west entrance and it is one way. The front circle drive is used for arrival and dismissal for Buses, daycares, PK 3 class, and students with special needs.
Walkers: Walker routes have not changed and are available for students that walk to/from school.

We would love to have volunteers at Polk for the 2026-2027 school year. Please review the videos in the links below for additional information about our volunteer program:

Attendance
Please email absence notes to gladyspolkattendance@brazosportisd.net or send a hard copy to school with your student.
Miscellaneous
Only spill proof water bottles will be allowed by students.
No slippers/no slides allowed. Bring appropriate shoes for P.E. as well.

PAWS folders should be checked daily and signed daily.
Please send a healthy snack for Snack Time. Please No candy, chips, cookies, sugary snacks, and only water to drink.
