Seonwoo and Jisu are the current leaders of the Paradigm Academy, whose objective is "To convert Non - Daily engineering to Daily Engineering based on literary understanding and love for humanity ".
This year, they are working on designing and building micro-greenhouse kits that will be accessible to local communities and broader applications such as educational kits for schools so that students can learn about food security, sustainability, designing, and global hunger. With their kits, students can assemble their own micro-greenhouse and experience growing foods in a sustainable way while having a quality education about both agriculture and programming.
Cherry is a youth environmental activist who leads by example to mobilize a youth climate movement. She is a Grade 8 student at Chadwick International, and she invests a lot of time and effort into planning and initiating nation- and worldwide campaigns. Cherry is affiliated with other environmental organizations including Greenpeace Korea while leading her own: Greener is Cleaner.
Gayeon is our 2021-22 Head Girl and a Jeju girl. She established the THEMIS Academy (Treating Humanity Equally, Molding Informed Society) primarily to to raise awareness of the 4.3 incident and support the movement to have it officially recognised by UNESCO. However, THEMIS has since grown into a movement to uncover the truth about many incidents in global history.
Seoyoon is a grade 10 student and sustainability champion who established the Sustainability Academy to explore and raise awareness about the UN Global Goals for Sustainability and the need for us to change our habits and lifestyles to create a sustainable world that is fit for everyone.
Seoyoon's talk will cover the importance of sustainable development, how this will impact and shape our future and how Sustainability Academy is doing their part.
SWAP Academy is led by three G10 students in Branksome Hall Asia with 5 years of history at Branksome Hall Asia. SWAP Academy discovers animal rights, animal protectionism, and speciesism on all animals; promotes animal rights within the Branksome Hall Asia community, and encourages others to raise awareness globally.
They contribute to the school community by encouraging students to have awareness of animals that need help through various activities such as holding fundraisers, poster campaigns, and talking in assemblies.
For her grade 10 Personal Project, Heesung chose to write a dystopian story about the ethical discourse that surrounds service – those that benefit from it and those who provide it.
This subject is one that she is very passionate about and the ideas for her novel have been born out of many influences and examples she has seen in the world.
Donghee is our 2021-22 Service Prefect and established the K-unification service project to explore the current relations between North and South Korea and how we can support North Korean refugees. She will share the goals established for her project and the impact it is having.
