Welcome to Key Club!

Welcome to Key Club! This is a group dedicated to providing service for the school and community. Joining Key Club is a great opportunity for students to branch out and support the people around them. This club is advised by Ms. Hult and Ms. Markes.

What do we do here?

Key Club is a student led service organization. We do various community service projects throughout the school year along with Child Care for staff PD days and celebrating teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! As far as to what students can expect to do here, it's mostly up to them! Here the students take charge in what everyone is going to do to help out. Maybe they want to make a big teacher appreciation event, or go and help the other schools, and don't worry about having a busy schedule, this club is very flexible with students' time. Whatever everyone may want to do, whatever they can think of to help out, there will be lots of people there to support each other.

How and when can I join?

Students can join any time. They just need to come to a meeting and join the Google Classroom. If they join before November they receive a Key Club membership card and pin for being members. The first Wednesday of every month at 7:25 a.m. the Key Club holds a meeting in the library. Make sure to attend if you're considering joining to learn more about the club.

Services

This school year Key Club has helped with the following activities: packing up school supplies with Kiwanis for the back to school bash at Lions park, child care for teachers during PD days, face painting at home BHS football games, donating funds to the local animal shelter and food pantry, a personal care drive, Toys for Tots, sponsoring a decorated trunk with NHS at a local trunk or treat, serving Kiwanis supporters at the annual Chili Dinner, helping Central Missouri Community Action employees pack and deliver care items around the holidays, serving concessions at BHS home basketball games and wrestling matches, and helping FFA with their yearly food drive. We have plans to end the school year with the following activities: provide student created art to those in care facilities in the Boonville area, celebrate teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, and stuffing and hiding Easter Eggs for the community Easter egg hunt that is sponsored by Kiwanis.

Come and try it out!

If you're looking for a place to support your school and community, then this is the place for you! Here we are building a supportive community of students to go out and show how much they care about others.
