K-5 Pacing Guide
This is shared among our 8 elementary level libraries to ensure that all BPS students are receiving essential curriculum at a unified time of year. This became critical during the pandemic when we were instructing across the district online.
Curriculum
Each grade level, K-5, has four strands of curriculum. The curriculum is based on the AASL National Standards, ISTE Standards, and Common Core State Standards. We are constantly adding and sharing the lessons that we use district-wide. New lessons are developed and shared throughout the year.

Inquiry Lesson
This is an inquiry lesson given to a second grade class. The See, Think, Wonder inquiry uses backmatter from the book Instructions not included: how a team of women coded the future by Tami Lewis Brown. The backmatter used for the activity is a photograph of ENIAC with a technician and Betty Snyder in the room. Below the photo is a copy of the news advertisement that the three women featured in the book answered.
Coding Lesson
In this lesson students use Ozobots to retell at least three parts of the story Before Morning by Joyce Sidman. Students decided which parts of the story to retell, what code would show what was happening in the story at that moment, and what drawn scenery would help retell that moment.
