In Home Basketball Shooting

  • Grab an empty trash can or basket and a piece of paper or a pair of socks.

  • Wad the paper/roll the socks into a ball and try shooting it like a basketball player into the empty trash can

  • Do your best to use proper form

  • How many different ways can you shoot the ball and make a basket?

  • How far away can you make a shot from?

  • Can you shoot with your non-dominant hand?

  • Try making up different kinds of shots:

    • Shoot from across the room

    • Hook shot

    • No look, over the shoulder

    • Bounce it off a wall or table

    • Connect passes with other people

  • Teach your shots to someone else and have them try

  • Play a game of horse and try to imagine more creative shots. modified for your home of course…


Juggling

(Tissue, Napkin, Scarf, Ball)

  • Take a napkin or scarf and use it to follow along with the juggling video 1

  • Use balls to follow along with video 2

Volley Ball With Balloons

1. Practice hitting the balloon to yourself, try to increase how many hits you are able to do

2. Hit the balloon to a partner, working together to not let it hit the ground.

3. Make a net with household objects, maybe line up chairs, and play a game of volleyball.

Soccer Dribble

take any ball and dribble around your house/apartment/backyard using both feet and keeping the ball on the ground

  • Indoors: use furniture or toys (examples: ottomans, chairs, laundry baskets) and place them around to use as obstacles

    • dribble around using your feet, going around by zig-zagging the obstacles

    • Be sure to use your non-dominant foot too!

  • Grab a sibling or family member and have them do it with you, or take turns
