Lower Roxbury: Voyages of Women (link to self-guided tour)

Walk from the former Phyllis Wheatley School past Girl's High, alma mater to Melnea Cass, and end at the Unity Mural in the former  Dudley Square (Nubian Square)

South End: Women's Heritage (link to self-guided tour)

 Walk from Blackstone School near the home of Rosie's Place founder Kip Tiernan to learn about activists Myrna Vasquez, Maria Baldwin, Melnea Cass, as well as the former settlement house named for Harriet Tubman and end at the site of Louisa May Alcott's house.

Dorchester/Upham's Corner Women's Heritage (link to self-guided tour)

Discover women activists from the 18th and 19th century who fought for racial equality, against animal cruelty, and for women's suffrage and the abolition of slavery. Learn about Trotter and Clapp--namesakes of local schools. 

Roxbury Women’s History Trail: Stepping Back

Learn about women activists and leaders such as Muriel Snowden, founder of Freedom House, Elma Lewis who founded a school of fine arts, as well as professionals such as Jessie Garnett--first African American dentist in Boston, and Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first professional nurse.
