Library Norms/Expectations →
Students must bring a pass from their teacher to enter the library.
You may not skip class to come to the library.
To keep our space clean and comfortable for everyone, food is enjoyed in the cafeteria.
All library materials must be checked out (3-week loan) or used in the library.
Do not leave with books unless they are checked out.
If no library staff are present, please use the Self-Service Station, the white computer near the circulation desk.
Use your own library account to borrow materials.
(Don't have a card? See library staff to set one up.)
Take care of library materials.
Return items on time or request an extension.
Clean up after yourself.
Keep noise levels low to maintain a focused environment.
How to make the most of your library space:
Read & Relax: Dive into a great book or eBook.
Explore: Browse the shelves, check out new finds, or return your items.
Study: Knock out your homework or prep for your next big test.
Search: Dig into research for your class projects.
Connect: Use our computers for schoolwork and assignments.
Ask: We’re here to help! Just ask if you need a hand finding resources.
Library Lunch Sign-Up →
Do you need a quiet spot to read, study, or get work done during your lunch period? You can sign up to spend lunch in the library!
The library is an extension of your classroom—a place for focused work. Quiet conversation is okay, but loud or disruptive behavior isn’t appropriate for this space.
The library is limited to 30 students per lunch period
Sign up the same day in the morning
→ Come to the library before lunch
→ Use the Self-Service computer station to reserve your spot
After signing up, ask the librarian for a pass
Bring your pass to lunch and turn it in when you arrive
→ No pass = no entry
(Sign-ups are done in person at the library, in the morning)
Use quiet voices
Work on school-related tasks
Respect the space and others
🍽️ If you need to eat, please go to the cafeteria.
⚠️ Reminder:
If expectations are not followed, you may be asked to leave and could lose future access.
Things To Keep In Mind When Ordering Books →
Always place your requests on the MBLN Catalog, not BPL.
BPL does not give the option to ship items to BPS libraries.
MBLN allows you to choose materials from a wider network of libraries, including BPL.
We receive book deliveries on Mondays only; please order materials early in the week in order to get them by the following week (barring a holiday or inclement weather).
Download the Sora app, for all your eBook/audiobook needs.
Log in with your BPS email and password or access it through your Clever account.
The app allows you to add local libraries (from the menu) and read from their collection.
