We’re now in Month 2 of our 7-month Reading Challenge, running November 2025 → May 2026.

How It Works
📖 Read:
Read 1 book each month — any genre, any format (ebooks, audiobooks, manga, graphic novels, fiction, nonfiction — all count!)
🗓️ Track:
Show your reading progress each month get stamps and prizes.
You can participate in two ways:
Option 1: Physical Reading Passport
📘 Pick up your Reading Passport and Tracker Bookmarks in the library
📝 Write down the book you finished each month
✔️ Bring your passport to be stamped or signed
🎁 Claim your monthly prize

Option 2: Digital/Online Reading Option (ebooks and audiobooks)

💻 Step 2: When you finish a book, submit your monthly reading entry through the digital passport form
Sora automatically tracks your reading minutes each month — just stop by the library to claim your prize.
Logging into Sora:
Search for and select "Boston Public Schools", then log in with your BPS email + password.

Library Policies →
Students MUST always bring a pass from their teachers to enter the library - you cannot skip your class to hang at the library.
NO EATING! Please eat lunch and snacks in the cafeteria.
All library materials are to be borrowed (for a 3-week period) or used in-house. You may not walk out with any books without checking them out.
In the absence of library personnel, please use "Self-Checkout" form on the computer in front of the circulation desk.
Use your own library card/account to borrow books. (See the library staff to open a library account.)
Treat library materials kindly.
Return borrowed items on time, or request an extension.
Clean up after yourself!
Keep noise to a minimum, to avoid disturbances.
Enjoy your productive stay at the library!
Things To Keep In Mind When Ordering Books →
Always place your requests on the MBLN Catalog, not BPL.
BPL does not give the option to ship items to BPS libraries.
MBLN allows you to choose materials from a wider network of libraries, including BPL.
We receive book deliveries on Mondays only; please order materials early in the week in order to get them by the following week (barring a holiday or inclement weather).
Download the Sora app, for all your eBook/audiobook needs.
Log in with your BPS email and password or access it through your Clever account.
The app allows you to add local libraries (from the menu) and read from their collection.
