Gemini and NotebookLM are available in Clever most students in grades 7 and up. As part of Google’s core services, they provide data privacy protections and do not train their models on user data. Gemini access for students is only through the Gemini app (gemini.google.com), and students do not have access to AI features that are embedded within other Google apps such as Google Docs.
⚠️ Students are expected to follow the school/teacher's AI guidelines if using AI tools for class assignments.
School leaders in K-5/6 schools may request student access to Gemini or NotebookLM by submitting a ticket in helpdesk.mybps.org. It is also recommended that your school complete the 1-hour asynchronous Demystifying AI course or request a custom PD to ensure that teachers are prepared to use the tools with students.
Additional Generative AI tools such as image generators are available to some or all students. Additionally, some apps containing AI features are available to students by teacher invitation, to be used with teacher supervision.
