AI Foundations for BPS Staff 2026-27 is a foundational course in AI literacy designed to give BPS staff and educators a basic understanding of AI and generative AI, how they work, and what their limitations are.Â
This self-paced, asynchronous course is approximately 60 minutes long and is required for all staff.
The AI Fellows Program is looking for classroom teachers and school-based instructional coaches grades 7-12 in all subjects. We seek participants who are strong instructional planners, who are innovative, creative, and flexible, and who want to implement essential AI skills into their HQIM so that students can practice using AI to think deeper, create better, and solve problems more efficiently than they could on their own. This program will run two cohorts (Cohort 1 from Oct 13 - Jan 12, 2027 and Cohort 2 from Jan 26 - Mar 30, 2027). Both cohorts will have the opportunity to join together to culminate in a Telescope Network Learning Site from April 6 - May 11, 2027.Â
The AI Fellows program is designed to support student-facing classroom teachers and instructional coaches with direct district guidance, a collaborative community for sharing, and hands-on learning through virtual meetings, site visits/observations, and active peer feedback.
This course counts toward the 12 hour inclusion requirement. Participants can earn 12 PDPs or 1 ALC.
