Essentials of Algebra - 1 elective credit
This course is a combination of algebraic and geometric concepts that will enhance and extend Pre-Algebra knowledge to prepare students for Algebra 1 and subsequent high school math courses. Application and problem solving in a real world context and critical thinking are integrated throughout the course. Primary emphasis will be placed on the study of linear relationships and descriptive statistics. The course will also extend students' knowledge of exponents, radicals, operations on real numbers, systems of linear equations and inequalities, and statistical reasoning.
(Prerequisites: 7th grade iLEAP Acheivement Level - Basic or below; C or below in 8th grade math; teacher recommendation)
