I graduated from LSUS in 2000 with a B.S. in Mathematics and returned to school less than a year later to earn my teaching certification. I taught at the middle school level for two years and then began at Parkway in 2003. I completed my Master's in Mathematics through Nicholl's State in 2014. I am also an adjunct instructor at BPCC where I teach evening classes.
In 2006, I was awarded the Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics Outstanding High School Teacher. I received a KTBS One Class at a Time Grant. The 2012-2013 school year was a huge year for me professionally as I was honored with the Optimist Club Award, the LATM Outstanding Teacher High School Teacher and was Parkway High School's Teacher of the Year.
I live South Bossier with my husband, Ron. I have two sons, Logan and Chandler.
It is my goal to provide my students with a strong foundation in mathematics and a desire to learn now and in the future.

Hello, my name is Candace Impson. I want to welcome each of you to my class! I have been teaching for nineteen years, fifteen of those years have been at Parkway High School. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Foundations of Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Algebra III and Probability and Statistics. This year I will be teaching Algebra 2 and Prob & Stats . Being able to help students understand math is the biggest inspiration I have as a teacher. I enjoy seeing the light bulbs go off when a problem or concept is finally understood. My goal as a teacher is to make sure each student walks away with the skills needed to succeed at the next level.
Here is a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. I graduated from LSUS in 2007 with my B.S. in secondary education ( focus in Mathematics). I live in Shreveport with my husband of nineteen years Jeff, and my two children Victoria and Dylan. Victoria will be a sophomore at Parkway and Dylan will be in 7th grade at Elm Grove. My husband is the branch manager at the Broadmoor branch of the Shreve Memorial library system. We are active in our church, and in our community.
I look forward to teaching each of you this year!
The 2025-2026 school year is going to be great!

Hello and welcome to my class. This is my second year at Parkway High School and my first as a part of the math department! This will be my fifth year as a teacher. This year I have the privilege of teaching Algebra I and Essentials of Algebra. Additionally, I work with the Pride of Pantherland Marching Band as a percussion instructor.

I have been involved with music for over 15 years and spend what little free time I have writing marching band music for various programs around the country as well as teaching some of the best marching ensembles in the world, most notably Monarch Independent (Houston, TX) and the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps (Denver, CO). I also serve as an adjunct faculty member at Centenary College where I work with their drumline.
I can not wait to grow with you all and to have a fantastic school year!
