Helping Hands Builds Birthday Kits

The Helping Hands Club received multiple birthday item donations from various students, families and teachers over the last few weeks.  The students then built several birthday kits that will be donated to the local food pantry.  These kits will be used to help families who are in need to have a Happy Birthday!  After the club completed the birthday kits, students went outside and wrote positive messages on the sidewalk for all students to see on Friday morning.

Dr. Mykee Fowlin Performs at JHS

Psychologist, actor and poet Dr. Mykee Fowlin came to JHS and presented his program "You Don't Know Me Until You Know Me" to students from 5th to 8th grade.  Dr. Fowlin used humor, performance art, poetry, storytelling, theatrical monologues and his personal journey to explain to students how many there are many different people in the world and that we should embrace these differences.

Middle School Spring Sports

Middle School spring sports started practicing this week.  Please be sure to visit our athletic schedules and pick a day to come out and support our student athletes!

8th Graders Begin Scheduling for High School!

Counselors from BHS visited 8th grade students on Tuesday during TAKE Flight to explain how to begin the scheduling process for high school!  Ms. Brady has also distributed a "how to" guide to 8th grade students.  We are so excited for our 8th graders as they are putting in the work to begin their next adventure!

Nurse's Notes

SPRING has officially arrived.  The release of tree and flower pollens are  common spring allergy triggers.  Spring allergy symptoms include: sneezing; congestion; headache; itchy and/or watery eyes; and a cough. Within the health office, we offer salt water gargles and blowing of the nose to relieve the symptoms.  Please monitor your child for signs &/or symptoms of allergies and treat them accordingly.

Realtime Parent Portal

Please check your Realtime Parent Portal for second marking period grades.  We are very proud of our students efforts in being the best students they can be!  Also, attendance letters are available to view under the correspondence tab.  Attendance letters are sent out once students meet attendance thresholds.  The NJDOE has prioritized a measure of Chronic Absenteeism that our schools are accountable to.  Chronic absenteeism occurs when a student misses 10 percent or more of the school days in session for which that student was enrolled.  If a student is enrolled for the full school year, acquiring 18 or more absences equates to being chronically absent.  Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
