John Hill School students and staff celebrated Read Across America this week with various reading activities. The student council had several themed days related to reading, such as dress as your favorite book character! The PTA also generously donated a book to each student in grades 3 and 4. In addition, they helped add to the book library for grade 5. The middle school students joined 3rd grade classes as special guest readers and read their favorite children's book to these students. Thank you to all participants who made this past week such a success!

Please check your Realtime Parent Portal for second marking period grades. We are very proud of our students efforts in being the best students they can be! Also, attendance letters are available to view under the correspondence tab. Attendance letters are sent out once students meet attendance thresholds. The NJDOE has prioritized a measure of Chronic Absenteeism that our schools are accountable to. Chronic absenteeism occurs when a student misses 10 percent or more of the school days in session for which that student was enrolled. If a student is enrolled for the full school year, acquiring 18 or more absences equates to being chronically absent. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
