What is the KHEAA dual credit scholarship?
The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority provides for two free courses in both junior and senior years during a scholar's high school career. The scholarship can only be applied to two courses in a scholar's junior and senior year (4 total).
The scholarship applies to courses rather than credit hours, so we recommend that scholars utilize the scholarship for courses carrying the most credit hours. For example, a scholar could select to apply the scholarship to SPA 101, a 4-hour course, and save 4 credit hours of tuition versus applying the course to HIS 101, a 3-hour course, and saving only 3 credit hours of tuition.
How do I apply for the KHEAA dual credit scholarship?
The KHEAA dual credit scholarship requires only that an eligible scholar (11th or 12th grader enrolled in a dual credit course) set preferences. Here is how the process works:
Schools submit data to KHEAA of which scholars are enrolled in a dual credit course.
KHEAA emails scholars directly to log into their accounts.
Scholars submit which semester and which institution they would like to apply the scholarship funds.
