MSAD 6 Interpreter Help

We contract with two providers for interpreting and translation: Catholic Charities of Maine is used for in-person services. If face-to-face interpreting is not necessary, you may use Certified Languages International (CLI).

According to the US and Maine Department of Education, we may not rely on "students, siblings, friends, or untrained school staff to translate or interpret for parents". If there is any question that the parent does not fully understand your conversation, you must arrange for an interpreter.

Catholic Charities of Maine offers interpreting (oral) and translation (written) services. Each school should request an interpreter according to the needs of the student and parents.  Online request for interpreter (MSAD 6 has an existing agreement. We do not need to submit a "Billing Information Form")

Certified Languages International (CLI) is available over the phone, 24/7/365. This is a great resource for any time that you need immediate help interpreting. They can usually determine a language over the phone if you are unsure.
