We are on our sixth and final math module. New math HW books were sent home today (4/8). This module introduces us to time, area and perimeter.

Students will be bringing home their math homework books and returning the lesson page for the day. We will correct the work in class together. Work will be graded and sent home for review. Please use this opportunity to discuss your child's work which will help better their understanding of concepts and prepare them for end of module quizzes.

All students are expected to read a chapter book for 30 minutes four nights or more per week. These reading minutes are factored into their trimester reading goal. Reading progress will be measured through AR tests.
Game Based Learning in Math
Using games to learn math skills like problem solving or numeration is not a new concept. The way the games are played however, is changing. Both schools and homes are moving into the age of technology and as a results many more kids are spending time playing games online. In fact research into game based learning reflects a positive outcome.
What is game based learning? Game based learning is the process of using games to teach important content, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
