Thoughtful preboarding preparation for your new or transferring team member is essential in order to provide a clear roadmap of activities and resources & promote a phenomenal start. New employees want an excellent culture & a sense of purpose to perform their best, and you're the person that can make that happen. Follow the below steps, and you'll be on your way!

Bronco Basics

Set Up Office

Set up their office (warm and inviting): nameplate, business cards, name tag

*Order name plates/pins

*Business card order form

Setting up technology: computer access, phone, keyboard, mouse, etc. *Request in advance

Create a one-week schedule of activities and meetings (details of what to include are below)

Put meetings on their calendar & make a printed copy for their desk

Create a team welcome message that's visible in the office

ONE

Employees are automatically enrolled in ONE for the closest Monday on or following their hire date. Keep an eye out for a confirmation email the week prior to their start date and don't forget to use PAGEUP for onboarding assistance beyond day one

Email before hire date to: express excitement, see if they have questions, & ask for their bio to distribute to the team

Create a “goals & expectations” sheet for them to have for their first day (optional).

One Week Schedule Includes: time to talk about role, culture (mission/values), meet team members, go through training, tour of campus, ONE orientation, new employees will learn about Boise State culture and we will introduce them to all the perks of being a Boise State employee.
