Meet the Journalists

Zizi is 14 and in 9th grade. She was born in Virginia, moved to Colorado Springs, then moved here to Boise. After high school, she wants to get a job involving art. Outside of school, Zizi likes to work with bead art, bike ride, and of course sleep! A piece of advice she would give to new 7th graders is “Don’t be afraid and make new friends.”

Julia is in 7th grade and she is 12 years old. Her hobbies are writing, origami, and paper art. She was born in California then moved here around age 3. Her favorite fictional animal is a dragon and her favorite real animal is a raccoon or a cat.

Celia is 14 and in the 8th grade. She joined Journalism because she has always found a love for writing and plans to pursue literature in her career. Outside of school, Celia enjoys playing softball, drawing/making art, playing the electric bass/clarinet, and reading.

Aly is a quiet 7th grader from Boise, Idaho. She has 2 cats and one little sister. Her dream is to live in New York or a small town and work as a cosmetologist. She loves all kinds of animals. She also loves drawing, horse-back riding, and caramel ice cream. She is super excited to write stories for Les Bois. 

Mya is a 13 year old 8th grader. This is her first year taking journalism. She wanted to take this class because she had previously taken creative writing and wanted to try something different. She does gymnastics outside of school and has been doing it for 10 years. Some other things she enjoys are eating and sleeping. When she is older, she wants to work at Chick-Fil-A and be a cosmetologist. 

Lily is an 11 year old in the 7th grade. She enjoys non competitive soccer and gymnastics. Some of her goals for the near feature are to improve her spelling 

and maintain better grades. If she goes to college, she wants to attend BSU, but

her dream job is to be a Youtuber.

Olivia is a 9th grader with two older sisters, and her dream job is to become a physical therapist. She is from Boise and her favorite book is Better Than the Movies. If she could go anywhere inside a show, book, or movie, she would go into her favorite show “Gilmore Girls.”

Eleah is a 13-year-old 8th grader, and she's a "people person." Though she loves writing, she does not have any experience in journalism!

She has been in competitive dance for 11 years, and she is also playing volleyball. Her goal is to be the best person she can be. Her dream job is to be a lawyer or a detective. Her hobbies are dancing, hanging out with friends, snowboarding and mountain biking.

Quintessence is thirteen years old and in 8th grade. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana and moved to Idaho in the 4th grade. She has never been in journalism before, but she is excited for the new experience.

Uriel is a seventh grader at Les Bois. Uriel’s favorite movie of all time is currently “The Last Samurai,” and his dream job is to be an NFL quarterback because he also loves sports. His favorite food is a good bison burrito and he chose journalism because he wants to do interviews and take pictures.

Lola is a 12 year old girl who was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. She likes reading, writing, and track. If Lola could be anywhere, she would want to be on Payette Lake in McCall. Her dream job is to be a pharmacist. She loves to read dystopian stories. Lola is very excited to be in Journalism!

Nevaeh is in 8th grade and from Homer, Alaska, where she lived for 9 years. She moved to Boise the May of 2023 with her family and her tuxedo cat, Milo. She said she wants to work in the STEM field as a pathologist, or a biologist when she grows up. Outside of school, she enjoys arts and crafts, crochet, volleyball and most of all – napping.

Claire is a 14 year old 9th grader. She joined journalism because she thought it would be fun and beneficial. Outside of school, she plays Timberline volleyball and enjoys hanging out with her friends. Claire has a younger sister and a dog named Sadie. She also loves to watch Gilmore Girls and chill at home with her friends. 

Sophia is a 7th grader and she is 12 years old. This is her first time in journalism. She likes to play soccer and hang out by the beach in her free time. She likes writing fun stories and she likes reading books. She either wants to go to U of I or some place beachy for college. She has 2 dogs  and 1 sister. She has been playing soccer for more than 8 years. her favorite tv show is Friends.

Drew is a 7th grader and super excited to be in journalism. Her favorite part of writing class in the past years was typing the story. For college she wants to go to NYC so she can walk around the city again. In her spare time she watches Stranger Things and plays volleyball with Amelia and Meave. When she is older she wants to travel the world and live in San Diego.

Cassidy is an incoming seventh grader who showcases her interest in socializing and connection between herself and her community. She aspires to work as a firefighter, police officer, or cruise worker in the future. This is a product of her innate nature to look towards helping, and meeting new people. Outside of her school life she enjoys hobbies such as volleyball, basketball, track, collecting, and the arts! She also has two older brothers, and two dogs in her family life. 

Sandu is in 7th grade, and he wants to go to BSU. Sandu’s dream job is to be a pillow tester so he can sleep for a living. In his free time he likes to read comic books. He chose to join journalism because he wanted to try something new. 

Otto is in 7th grade. Some of his hobbies are collecting Pokémon cards and skateboarding. He has a dog named Boomer who is 5 years old. His favorite type of writing is Creative writing. He is looking forward to getting to know different people in journalism this school year.
