Bailey Sloane- LAT, ATC
Bailey is a proud 2018 graduate of Boise State University's Athletic Training Program, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Psychology. For the past seven years she has served Boise High School as a dedicated athletic trainer and for the past three, has been a member of St. Luke's Sports Medicine team.
Passionate about keeping student-athletes healthy, strong and confident, Bailey focuses on both injury prevention and recovery- helping athletes understand their bodies and build lifelong habits for success. Her favorite part of the job is being on the sidelines, building good relationships, and supporting athletes as they push their limits and grow through challenges.
Morgan Bengtzen- MAT, LAT, ATC
Morgan is a 2020 graduate from Southern Utah University in Athletic Training and then a 2023 graduate from Boise State University in Athletic Leadership. She has been in the boise school district as an athletic trainer for the last 4 years and is an employee of St Luke’s Sports Medicine.
Dr. Beckmann (Boise High Directing/Team Physician)
James T. Beckmann, MD, MS, AAOS, ABOS is fellowship trained in orthopedic sports medicine surgery specializing in arthroscopy of the hip, knee, and shoulder in both adults and pediatric patients. Dr. Beckmann is the current chairman of orthopaedics for St. Luke's and medical director for their athletic training residency program. He serves as the orthopedic team physician for the Idaho Steelheads, US Soccer Federation, and Boise High Brave.
Dr. Beckmann’s primary surgical specialties include: complex knee ligamentous reconstruction including ACL, patellar dislocation, meniscal tears, and cartilage restoration procedures; hip arthroscopy for structural disorders in athletes including labral repair; and shoulder disorders of the rotator cuff, labrum, and biceps tendon. In addition, he has expertise in tendon repairs of the hamstrings, biceps, and Achilles tendons.
Dr. Beckmann completed his specialty training at Stanford University, serving as an orthopedic team physician for their football, basketball, and women's volleyball teams. In 2018, he was selected as one of two physicians worldwide to complete a travelling fellowship in hip arthroscopy through the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA). He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and written seven chapters in prominent orthopedic textbooks. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Duke University and completed medical school at the Cleveland Clinic before moving to Utah for his orthopedic surgery residency.
Following training, Dr. Beckmann settled in Boise where he has lived in the Highlands neighborhood since 2015. He enjoys spending time with his wife Emily, and two sons Henry and Walton. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, skiing, travel, and spending time outdoors.
Zachary Braddock - PT, DPT, SCS (Physical Therapist for St.Luke's)
Zach Braddock, PT, DPT, SCS is a doctor of physical therapy specializing in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation, as well as sports performance.
Zach received his bachelor's degree in architecture from Ball State University and doctorate of physical therapy from Regis University. He then completed a sports physical therapy residency with St. Luke's. He is a certified personal trainer through the NSCA and has worked extensively with high school and college athletes. He also worked for the National Park Service and acted as a first responder for rescue missions in the Tetons.
In his free time, you'll find Zach in the mountains: ski mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking, and trail running.
You can usualy find him working closely with us in the ATR every other week.
Emily Thomas- PT, DPT, SCS (Physical Therapist for St.Luke's)
Emily Thomas, PT, DPT, SCS is a doctor of physical therapy and board certified sports clinical specialist. She is the program manager for sports rehab at St. Luke’s, where she is also a member of the sports residency faculty. Emily attained her bachelor’s degree in human physiology from Gonzaga University, where she ran cross country and track. She went on to earn her doctorate in physical therapy from Regis University.
Emily enjoys helping athletes understand and manage their injuries, and loves helping them return to sport with confidence. She has experience coaching distance running at both the high school and collegiate level and has special interest in management and prevention of running related injuries.
In her free time, she enjoys being outside with her family: running, camping, fishing, and chasing after her kids with her husband.
