Goal Example: 1. By November 2018 I will effectively incorporate digital applications such as Hapara Workspace for my planning, teaching and learning to accelerate my priority learners.
NB: Your Teaching and Learning Goal should be evidenced within your Teaching as Inquiry.
A new plan for Senior Mathematics (year 12 and year 13)
From last year the year 12 (2022) average number of credits were 6. This year my focus is to grow Mathematics amongst senior students and to get an average of above 14.
GOAL: To let the students take responsibility for their own learning in a mixed class group (y12 and y13) and gain at least 14 credits successfully .
As the HOF of a department where we have teachers teaching our subject who are not Math teachers I've decided to base my Personal Goal on this ongoing "problem" area. I want to ensure that "math" is happening and that the students can set goals for math.
GOAL:
Upskilling Year 9 Math teachers on how to use assessment data efficiently, in order to lift the level and to help develop individual learning programs by using specifically the PAT tool. Also to get the year 9 teachers, specifically, to start using the LPF tool and teacher judgement, rather that old fashioned testing.
How?
Every second week we meet as the Junior team, here we will have shared ideas, as well as changing the program we have to fit individual needs.
All JUNIOR mathematics now have a Hapara workspace with teaching videos, color coded with the worksheets.
Mina focus as dean: every y9 assembly has a reference to the use of IXL.
Workshops with Sue Mike Holmes and KEN Math with Diane at Ohaewai School on Thursdays.
