DAY 1:
- PPDAC with the focus on PP
- Watch the video of Whaea Mina talking about slides 1 - 8
- Open the google doc and answer your questions on slide 4 and slide 6 (WATCH the video of how you should save yours)
- Open this google doc and now start your practice assessment :
1. Today you need to write you P: problem and P: plan
2. If you want to go for Merit and Excellence you now need to do your research.
DAY 2:
- Only do this once you have finished ALL of Day 1's work
- Watch the video of Whaea mina talking about slides 10 - 15
- See if you can draw 2 scatter plots (graphs): ONE without a LOBF and ONE with a LOBF on your practice google doc. (LOBF = line of best fit or the trend line)
- Watch the video of Whaea mina talking about: how to upload Driving Data onto jake4maths NZgrapher.
- Now upload the data and make your two graphs (scatter graph: one without the regression line and one with the regression line
(regression line = line of best fit = LOBF) Copy your graphs to your assessment google doc.
DAY 3:
- 1. Watch this video:
- 2. Read through the ACHIEVED Assessment
DAY 4:
- Today we are working through TARSOG.
- For our first graph we just add a short one liner (one sentence for each part of TARSOG, or we can even write this in ONE sentence.
- Open the video of whaea Mina talking through TARSOG.
- Then open your google doc for assessment and write up your one liners for the graph without the LOBF and then do a FULL TARSOG for the graph with the LOBF.
- Use your slideshow for this

DAY 5:
- DO YOUR RESEARCH ON A SEPARATE GOOGLE DOC....YOU WILL COPY FROM THIS DOC ONTO YOUR OWN...
- today you have time to do your research:
- Typical research questions would be:
What is fuel efficiency of a car?
Why is engine size measured in litres?
What factors influence the fuel efficiency of a car?
Who would find the fuel efficiency of cars usefull?
What is the fuel efficiency rating in New Zealand as given by AA?
What is a fuel economy label?
What is the car of the future? and how would this influence fuel efficiency?
What is a hybrid car?
What is an electric car?...what about this car's fuel efficiency?
DAY 6:
- Listen to the video of Whaea mina talking through slides 24 -26
- Sorry the BATTERY died on me, now listen to the video of Whaea Mina talking through slides 27 - 29 and residuals
- Open your google doc for assessment and now Copy what I did on slides 24 - 29
- if you go back to our class site...back to the menu showing 9, 10, 11, 12 , 13...I've added a F class site (Financial Numeracy group)... I've added a lot of teaching video
DAY 7:
- listen to this video, and maybe write some more up on your report. Remember for M and Excellence you need to link your graph to content and what you know.

- master copy for Merit and / or excellence
- and the video of me talking through the Merit/Excellence master copy
DAY 8:
1. today we focus on another acronym: ARSE ...we use this to write up our conclusion
A= answer the relationship question in P part of the cycle
R= put some research linking to your report in
S= summary of your TARSOG AND regression line
E= evaluate whether you think this was a worthwhile report, and whether you think someone would find it useful and how confident you are on making a prediction using the model (equation of the regression line)
2. Watch the video of Whaea Mina talking about the C of PPDAC
3. TO DO: Now write up the conclusion of your report using the acronym ARSE.
Day 9:
- Now open the 3.9 main topic and go to the TEACHING VIDEOS. You need to watch all of these.
- If you have finished watching all, you are ready for the ACHIEVED part of the assessment.
- To do the Merit and Excellence part go to DAY 10, below:
