Marlon Hunt
Hunt Family
Hello and welcome! My name is Marlon Hunt, and I am honored to serve as the Art teacher here at Brashier Middle College Charter High School. I bring a lifelong passion for creativity and learning into the classroom.
I have been a professional artist for over 33 years, and I’ve spent about 12 of those years as a teaching artist, working with students to explore the world of visual arts. My teaching career began in the elementary setting, where I taught 4th grade for two years and later became the Art teacher at Summit Drive Elementary for a year.
Originally from the beautiful islands of the Bahamas, I moved to South Carolina about 20 years ago. I hold a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and I am deeply committed to fostering meaningful learning experiences.
My goal as an educator is to engage every student through inquiry and hands-on exploration—encouraging them to discover more about themselves, their place in the community, and their connection to the wider world. I believe art has the power to spark curiosity, inspire confidence, and promote self-expression.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy creating art, traveling, cooking, and learning about new cultures. I’ve been happily married to my wife, Rachel, for 25 years, and we have two amazing children—Soleil 20, and Noah, 19.
I look forward to an exciting year of creativity and discovery with my students!
