Michaela serves individuals ages 18 and up. She aims to show people with similar backgrounds that focusing on mental health is important and how the barriers that are created by trauma can be shifted. Her passion is working with helpers, "fixers" and over achievers find life balance and learn how to consider themselves in relationships. You will develop skills for self-care, boundary setting and being gentle with you, etc.
"I would say my therapeutic style is Integrative or holistic. I don't believe there is one direct method of treatment for anyone. I pull from my training and use modalities including CBT, DBT, expressive art, trauma focused, and EMDR to name some. Most importantly is the relationship developed in the therapeutic space. My approach is I am open about what I notice, I challenge as needed, but I am not judgmental. I believe I would not be doing my job if I didn't say anything about what may be "getting in the way".
I have a passion tackling the "-isms" and the effects it has on society and the people in it. I offer a space for non people of color to begin or continue to explore their racial identity in this diverse world. "
