If they struggle to regulate emotions (Anxiety, depression, thoughts of suicide, thoughts of harming self or others, oppositional behaviors, or struggles to sleep)
When they are going through something new (divorce, a move, changing schools, serious illness whether them or a family member, new sibling)
When they have experienced trauma (car accident, assault, substance abuse whether them or a family member, abandonment, bullying, neglect, natural disaster, or crime exposure)
Grief (loss of family, friend, or animal)
OR even if nothing is "wrong" - therapy is still a great way to build coping skills and resilience for the future!
Comfortable and safe office spaces where everyone can feel at ease
Engaging therapeutic approaches using games and toys to support expression
Understanding & kind clinicians to meet clients where they are at
A specialized playroom available for therapy when beneficial
We currently accept Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, EMI, PEHP, Select Health, and United Healthcare. We also accept HSA cards, cash pay, or clergy pay if it applies.
Here at Blue Bee Counseling Services we believe in meeting our clients where they are at and providing therapeutic interventions with what works best for them. Children naturally have a smaller attention span, and do better with playing games and using toys to express their emotions and to work through their trauma. We have found success utilizing our playroom as well as using interventions that help children with their needs using the toys and games that best relate to them and their situations. Using our playroom for therapy, we have found children are able to freely express with no judgement and through a fun technique that sends them home saying, "When can I go back?" Therapy shouldn't be scary, and we strive to bring excitement and fun to childrens therapy sessions.
Helping Kids Thrive: How Therapy Can Shape a Brighter Future
Emotions and thoughts shape behavior and relationships, and therapy helps kids develop the skills to navigate them.
Conversations surrounding mental health have increased in recent years, and we are more aware than ever of the benefits of starting social and emotional learning at a young age. Research shows that meeting the mental health needs of children in their early years positively impacts their lifetime outcomes by increasing rates of high school graduation and college attendance, and lowering rates of poverty, homelessness, and involvement in the criminal justice system.
Therapy Isn’t Just for Crisis—It’s for Growth
Therapy is not only for kids who are struggling. Therapy helps all children and teens develop emotional intelligence, communication skills, and coping mechanisms.
One of the most common emotional challenges that kids face is anxiety. If your child or teen experiences excessive anxiety and worry that is difficult to control, you may be seeing symptoms such as restlessness, being easily fatigued, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances. This may also manifest as concerns about school or sport-related performance, excessive worries about being on time, fears about natural disasters, perfectionism, and requiring excessive reassurance. If you see any of these symptoms or other concerning behavior that is impacting the child’s ability to function, therapy can help.
Our therapists in South Jordan have experience working with kids and prioritize creating a safe space for play and learning. Our playroom is filled with toys that have been purposefully collected, and our office has games, activities, and projects to help children and teens process thoughts and emotions through creative expression.
Changing the Trajectory of a Life
Evidence-based clinical treatment services help children and teens learn how to:
Name and understand their emotions
Develop healthy coping strategies
Build self-esteem and confidence
Learn how to set boundaries and communicate effectively
These skills will help them strengthen healthy relationships, improve symptoms related to anxiety and depression, and help them more successfully navigate school and social situations. Emotional regulation is a skill that can be developed, leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Therapy as a Superpower for Life
We encourage parents and caregivers to see therapy as an investment in a child’s future rather than purely a last resort. Blue Bee Counseling Services wants every child and teen to have the chance to grow up with the tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Children and teenagers love our clinicians! We believe in providing safe spaces for children and teenagers to enjoy their healing journey through anxiety, depression, trauma, etc.

Bringing your child to counseling for the first time can be a daunting experience. To help ease any concerns, we've outlined what you can expect at Blue Bee.
Upon arrival, our front desk will direct you to the waiting area. We encourage parents to attend the first session with their child, which we call the intake session. During this time, we'll get to know you and your child, understand your reasons for seeking counseling, and answer any questions you may have. We aim for an open and comfortable conversation; there are no "dumb" questions when finding the right therapist for your child.
Our primary focus will be on ensuring your child feels comfortable in our space. We will discuss what to expect in future sessions, outline our company procedures, and, if applicable and available, offer a tour of our playroom.
We will thoroughly explain our confidentiality agreement to both you and your child. Your child's discussions with us will be kept confidential, with three exceptions: if your child is being harmed, plans to harm someone else, or expresses concerns about harming themself. In any of these situations, both you and your child will be informed. We are partners in your child's well-being and will always be transparent with you; we will never go behind your back.
Towards the end of the session, if time allows, we will meet privately with your child to talk and understand their feelings.
A few additional points:
1. We recommend giving the therapist a few visits to determine if it's a good fit. If you feel a change is needed, please don't hesitate to speak with the therapist, a supervisor, or the front desk.
2. You are welcome to communicate with your child's therapist about your child at any time via email, and they will respond as soon as possible. While you can also speak with them at the beginning of a session, we prefer not to have conversations without the client after sessions, as this can make children feel as though we are "telling on them." We will always inform your child if we have spoken or emailed with you, fostering transparency and trust.
3. We are here to support your family, not to judge you or your child, nor to take over your role as a parent. At Blue Bee, our policy is to empower children to communicate effectively with their parents and advocate for their feelings constructively. Our goal is to help your family become more connected and healthy.
