Books for Breakfast?
In 6th Grade Language Arts with Mrs. Okken and Miss Ciccone, students completed independent reading projects in the form of Cereal Boxes! Students were tasked with demonstrating their knowledge of their independent fictional book in the form of a cereal box.
Some even came with prizes inside!
In Miss Ciccone's 5th Grade Language Arts Class, students completed an independent reading project by creating their fictional story into the form of a sandwich! Students had to include different layers of their book in the form of lettuce, cheese, deli meat, and bread.
Explore Space with Mrs. Franke's 6th Grade Science Class
Students have been exploring in their planetary science unit. They have discovered theories on the moon, phases of the moon, eclipses, moon craters and more!
During class, students competed in NASA STEAM Challenges! They were able to create a solar oven to melt s'mores, make working sundials, and create balloon Lunar Modules to land on the moon!
Getting Creative With Miss King
Technology is something that we use everyday! Miss King is showing her classes in 5th to 8th grade, how to use our technology in a more creative way.
Many projects have taken place in the classroom, such as the house of cards challenge, creating objects using a 3-D design software, and creating paper shoes.
Abstract Art in Math?
In Mrs. Rooney's 6th grade Math class, students created abstract art using a 10x10 grid! They completed a table that showed 5 colors to represent fractions, decimals, and percents.
In addition to learning about geography, citizenship and early human life, Mrs. Natoli's Social Studies class created their own challenge coin designs for service. Students wrote about ways in which kids their age can serve the school and Bloomingdale Community.
One-Step In The Right Direction
In 7th grade Math with Miss Jacobs, students are practicing and reviewing one-step equation skills through Blooket, Pixel Art, and Scavenger Hunts!
