Introduction to Business (Elective)

Introduction to Business is a survey course for students interested in business.  Students will learn how businesses are organized and operated.  Students will also learn about personal finance, career planning, banking, saving and investing, insurance credit and other topics every student needs to function in today’s modern business world as both a wise consumer and an efficient worker.


Intro to Sports Marketing/Management (Elective)

This class will introduce students to the basic marketing principles while delving into the multibillion dollar Sports Marketing industry.  Sports Marketing is a subdivision of marketing, which focuses on the promotion of sports, events, and games. It will also examine the management side of sports, including the administrative structure and the business side of collegiate and professional organizations. 


Accounting (Elective)

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE ACCOUNTING?  Accounting will provide students with insights into the business world.  It is also valuable for personal use because money management is an important part of any accounting system.  This is a recommended course for students hoping to gain employment in business upon high school graduation or those college-bound students with an interest in business or accounting.  All students intending to advance their training in business should consider high school accounting.

Accounting covers the basic theories upon which accounting principles are based as well as some practice putting those theories into use.  Over half of all business ventures that fail do so because of a poor understanding of accounting.


Financial Literacy (Graduation Requirement)

Financial Literacy is designed to introduce students to financial situations and career decisions they will face in all areas of life.  Financial literacy will also supply students with a firm sense of money management and financial security.  Topics to be covered include: choosing a career, taxes, checking accounts, credit and much more.
