NOTE TO PARENTS & STUDENTS REGARDING REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION: It is the student’s responsibility to see that requirements for graduation are met. BCHS will make every effort to maintain up-to-date records and to keep students and parents informed about the status of progress toward completing the necessary course work for graduation. However, it is the student’s responsibility to monitor his/her progress towards meeting graduation requirements. BCHS requires twenty-two (22) credits to graduate, which must include the following required courses:
English: 4.0 credits
Math: 4.0 credits (must include Algebra II or equivalent)
Social Studies: 3.0 credits (must include World Studies, US Studies and PED)
Science: 3.0 credits (must include Physical Science, Life Science and Advance Science)
Health: 0.5 credit
Physical Education: 0.5 credit OR Board-adopted PE Waiver
Students must successfully complete two full seasons of a BCHS sport, Marching Band, Color Guard or Cheerleading in order to use the PE Waiver option. The online PE Waiver must be filled out and submitted after both activities are successfully completed in order to use this option. Financial Literacy: 0.5 credit
Fine Arts: Successful completion of two semesters of Fine Arts (grades 7-12)
Electives: 6.5 credits
TOTAL: 22 CREDITS
The criteria listed below are the requirements for awarding the Diploma with Honors as determined by the State Department of Education.

Students who would like to earn the STEM, Arts and Social Science and Civic Engagement Honors Diplomas must notify the Guidance Office by the beginning of their 12th grade year.
C. The diploma awarded in accordance with this rule shall be in such form as the District Board of Education prescribes, bear the date of its issue, and contain the signatures of the president and treasurer of the District Board of Education, the Superintendent of schools and the Principal of the high school.
Students planning to pursue further education upon graduation from BCHS should analyze the following carefully. The list below indicates the minimum high school work that is normally recommended for admission to college; however, the requirements vary from school to school, with many 4-year colleges requiring more. If students are interested in a particular school, they should check the admission and course requirements for that particular college.
English: 4 Credits
Math (Algebra I & higher): 4 Credits including Algebra II
Social Studies: 3 Credits
Science (2 lab courses): 3 Credits
Foreign Language: 2 Credits (3 recommended)
Visual/Performing Arts: 1 Credit
