Our diverse community acts with integrity, respect and care, learning together as critical enquirers who value reflection and perseverance. United as global citizens, we develop the skills and characteristics to create a more peaceful and sustainable world.

IBO Mission Statement

BIS is accredited as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

The International Baccalaureate Organization aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Headteacher's Introduction

Dear  Parent and Students,

A very warm welcome to the 2024-2025 academic year. Whether, like me, this is your first year in Secondary at BIS or a continuation of your educational journey, 2024-2025 is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting and successful year.

BIS HCMC is outstanding in all areas – something of which the entire community can be very proud and something that we can all aspire to each and every day. We can aim to be outstanding, not just in our academic pursuits, but in all our endeavours, inside and outside the classroom, being courageous in actively seeking and accepting help when we need it with the support and care we provide for each other.

Challenge yourself to make the most of the myriad of opportunities on offer, making sure you enrich your educational journey in as many ways possible and find ways to move out of your comfort zone to experience something new.

In taking every opportunity available to you and in collaborating with others, you will develop your understanding of each other, learning from all the different cultures at BIS and celebrating the diversity across our vibrant learning community.

My hope for this year is that, when we reach June 2024 and look back on the back on the year that was, we can all say, “I have loved all of the learning opportunities I’ve taken part in, I’ve been outstanding in everything I have done, and I am proud of all my personal achievements.”

Have a wonderful year, I’m excited and honoured to be able to share in your journey.
