Veteran’s Day is a day where we take time to notice and honor our veterans. One thing you can do to honor your veterans is simply change one of your outdoor lights to green. Our school celebrates Veteran’s Day by giving us the day off from school. I asked Martina Murphy if she had any ideas on how our school could be more involved with this special day and she said “Maybe have the students wear patriotic colors to school the day before the holiday”.

I walked around the hallways asking other students from all grades if they have veterans in their families. I asked Emma Guthmiller, an 8th grader on Dream Team, if she had any veterans in her family and she stated that her grandpa was a veteran. Her family celebrates by spending time with him on Veteran’s Day.

So if you are lucky enough is see a veteran, make sure you thank them for their service.
