Century High School’s girls track and field program has built a strong tradition over the years, becoming one of the most competitive programs in North Dakota. Since the school opened in 1975, the team has won 8 State team titles. Beginning with State Championships in 1999 & 2005 led by Hall of Fame Coach Julie Stavn. The program continued its success with a dominant stretch winning titles from 2011 to 2015 under Head Coach Nick Walker and most recently in 2021 led by Brennan Doan.
But the story isn’t just about trophies. It’s about the athletes who put in the work every season; sprinters, distance runners, jumpers, and throwers all coming together at the end of the season. Year after year, Century girls show up ready to compete, often finishing near the top at big meets and continues to produce standout individual performances. The Century girls program boasts 54 individual State Champions, while adding 19 State titles in the relays, 16 top 10 marks in ND History, and 2 Individual State Records. The Century’s girls track program is defined by consistency, hard work, and a strong sense of tradition.
