Program Guidelines

Attendance Policy:

Practice is mandatory for all athletes and will start at 3:45 sharp. If an athlete must miss or be late for a practice due to sudden illness, injury, family emergencies, etc, please notify Coach Doan prior to practice. The absence will be considered an unexcused absence if no email or text is sent to Coach Doan. Communication goes a long way!

(3 tardies = 1 unexcused absence)

First unexcused absence: the athlete will not participate in the next upcoming meet.

Second unexcused absence: the athlete will not participate in the next two meets.

Third unexcused absence: the athlete will be dismissed from the team.

Injuries: Injuries should be reported to coaches immediately. The sooner it is detected, the sooner it can be treated. In a result, the less time an athlete will have to miss practice and meets. Century’s main Athletic Trainer is Dean Chumley and he should be your first option! All treatments at Century High School are free of charge.

Work: If you have a conflict with work you must get this resolved the first week of practice. Working during the season is not an option, if it causes you to miss practice and meets.

Dual Sport Same Season: You may be involved in other sports during the season as long as we have a set schedule with the other sport you are participating in.

Travel: *All athletes should travel on the bus to competitions. It’s also a great way to build comradery and team unity. If an athlete plans to travel home with their parents, the Bismarck Public Schools travel waiver form has to be filled out and signed before they leave. The travel waiver can be found on the website!

Lettering Criteria: An athlete must score 20 Points in order to earn a letter.
