English Language Arts

Unit 4
Students will visit the library to refresh our reading choices and practice joining sentences “legally”
Students will also read and analyze the poem, “Sleeping in the Forest” using the TPFASTT strategy for poetry analysis.
At the end of the week they will compare and contrast the mood and tone of “Ode to Enchanted Light” and “Sleeping In The Forest” and combine sentences legally.

Students analyze assessment questions involving proportional and non-proportional relationships.
Students will analyze different attributes of two polygons to determine similarity and identify triangles according to their side length and angle measure. They will also identify corresponding sides of similar figures and calculate unknown measures in similar figures.

Students will evaluate their knowledge of slope, data plots, equations, proportions, and functions using the district Academic Target Exam on Tuesday and Wednesday.
