This session will be provided by our Local Mental Health Authority, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. As required by §153.1015, School district employees who regularly interact with students are employees working on a school campus, including, but not limited to, teachers, coaches, librarians, instructional coaches, counselors, nurses, administration, administrative support personnel, student support personnel, paraprofessionals, substitutes, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus drivers, crossing guards, and district special programs liaisons. This session is available to ALL staff. All staff who interact with students must be trained by 2028-2029 school year. Staff must take this training only once to meet statutory requirements.
If an employee has previously completed the YMHFA course provided by a local mental health authority, they are not required to retake it. Staff are required to upload the certificate upon completion of the course. If earned outside of Bastrop ISD, please choose the LINK TO UPLOAD CERTIFICATE below.

Description: In this session, DOI teachers will review district expectations for completing their certification within the timeframe outlined in their DOI letters. Teachers will also have the opportunity to collaborate with peers and district administrators to develop strategies and an action plan to successfully meet these requirements.

The Texas Mentorship Training prepares experienced educators to effectively support and develop new teachers. Participants will learn strategies for building strong mentor relationships, providing meaningful feedback, and guiding instructional growth to promote teacher success and retention.
This will be a two day training on July 9-10, 2026 at a region 13 location (TBD).
