Dimension 2.4 Learning Centers/Stations

Dimension 2.4

"The Teacher:

  • Adapts lessons with a wide variety of instructional strategies to address individual needs of all students.
  • Consistently monitors the quality of student participation and performance.
  • Always provides differentiated instructional methods and content to ensure students have the opportunity to master what is being taught.
  • Consistently prevents student confusion or disengagement by addressing learning and/or social/emotional needs of all students."

Learning Centers/Stations: Possible considerations for Dimension 2.4

  • Are stations differentiated by interest, skill-level, or learning-style - allowing an individual student to pick a course of investigation that best fits his or her needs?
  • Are there mechanisms built into the stations that allow teachers to monitor student participation and performance?
  • Are the students allowed a platform where they ask each other questions and rely on the collective expertise in the room to solve problems?
