"The Teacher:

• Provides opportunities for students to establish high academic and social-emotional expectations for themselves.
• Persists with the lesson until there is evidence that all students demonstrate mastery of the objective.
• Provides opportunities for students to self-monitor and self-correct mistakes.
• Systematically enables students to set goals for themselves and monitor their progress over time."

• Are students allowed to self-assess their knowledge?
• Are the students allowed a platform where they ask each other questions and rely on the collective expertise in the room to solve problems?
• Are stations differentiated by interest, skill-level, or learning-style - allowing an individual student to pick a course of investigation that best fits his or her needs?
• Prior to engaging learning stations, are students prompted to review previous self-assessments to monitor their own progress and assess their current needs?
