Welcome! I look forward to another great school year! Please read below for parent instructions for the start of the year:
Orchestra "Tune-up Day" will take place Saturday August 19th from 9-12 noon in the BHS Orchestra Room. This event will include a general parent and student information, uniform fitting, locker and instrument assignment, and Booster Club orders. This is a come & go event, however, it is not required for middle school orchestra students.
Please read the SBMS Orchestra Handbook thoroughly. Students will receive a physical copy the handbook in class. After reading the Handbook, please complete the Student Registration & Handbook Acknowledgment Form.
Next, please review the Orchestra Calendar and mark your personal calendar with up-coming orchestra dates. Please read the attendance policies stated in the Orchestra Handbook. It is crucial that any schedule conflicts are communicated as soon as possible.
Please Note: All calendar dates are subject to change. Notifications will be sent regarding any scheduling changes.

Cooper Jones was born and raised in Amarillo Texas. Mr. Jones started playing violin when he was 3 years old and was trained in classical music and blue grass music growing up. He graduated from West Texas A&M University with a music education degree, and has traveled across the country with various country bands as a fiddle player. In his spare time, Mr. Jones likes to play with his basset hound named Willie, and play fiddle for local country bands in the area.
