Visit the New Teacher Academy page of this site to read about July 29, 30, and 31.  The New Teacher Academy is for all First Year Teachers and New to Birdville Teachers.  This includes EAs who are now teachers and First Year Teachers hired after the school year began last year.

Beginning of the Year - Dates to Know

July 28 - Nest Fest - Excellent for new teachers and new hires into the district.  All BISD educators within their first two years are encouraged to attend.   The learning will be around digital learning tools to enhance your instructional practices.  See flyer below.

July 29 - New Teacher Academy - 

AM = The morning will include training around required computer programs and platforms educators must use.

PM = New Hire time with Campus Administration.  New Hires will travel to their campuses for the afternoon and learn the ins and outs of campus expectations. 

July 30 - New Teacher Academy - Department Day - New Hires will spend the entire day with their department.  They will learn how to access their curriculum, teaching expectations, and specifics related to their discipline.  

July 31 - New Teacher Academy - First Year Teachers, only - 

AM = First Year Teachers (FYT) will learn from Instructional Facilitators about classroom management, effective practices, communication, and more.  

PM = First Year Teachers will have the opportunity to meet their mentors and begin to establish their collaborative plans for working together.

August *3 - All Teachers Report Back!  / Campus Professional Learning

August *4 & 5 - District Professional Learning 

August *6 - Campus Professional Learning + Team Building

August *7 - District Safety & Compliance Day

August *10 & 11 - Teacher Work Day
